Guerry Lumber is proud to announce an exciting new chapter in our company’s long history serving Savannah, Georgia and the surrounding region. As of December 31, 2025, William “Will” Guerry Wheat has been named President following his successful tenure as Vice President of Sales and Operations.
Founded in 1927, Guerry Lumber has remained a family-owned and operated business for nearly a century. With this transition, Will becomes the fifth-generation family member to lead the company—a milestone we are incredibly proud of.
Will succeeds his mother, Lindy Wheat, who retired in 2024 after years of dedicated leadership. We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to Steve Chick, who served as President from 2003 to 2025. Steve will continue to play an important role within the company, supporting ongoing operations and ensuring a smooth transition.
As we look to the future, we’re excited about the continued growth and innovation under Will’s leadership, while staying rooted in the values that have made Guerry Lumber a trusted name in building materials in Savannah, GA.
